Hi guys!
I'm not sure why the Rebel got sooo much hate so far. All the sites and Youtube videos I've seen seems to be mostly quite hateful towards the Rebel. The truck may not be as genuine as people would like it to be and by that I mean that a lot of features were strongly inspired by the Raptor (although does not make it a rival by any mean). This kind of copy-cat thing has been around for quite some time now in the vehicule business so I don't know why it's so special about RAM and why it got so much attention.
I get that the look was drastically changed but is this really a bad thing for a "new" line? I personally love everything about this truck. The Rebel was probably aimed for a customer base aged from 25-45 and not for the "older" die hard RAM fans. It seems like a lot of them can't deal with the new grille style and the RAM on the tailgate. To me, it sounds like because it's never been there before it must be ugly by default right?
I must confess that I'm new in the truck business. I've recently came back in my small hometown after spending 12 years studying/working in the city. Before leaving the city, I bought a small car (2011 Golf GTI) because I had no need of a truck up there but now I do. To me, it's all about small details and quality. On the look alone, RAM was the clear winner. Since I kinda hate chrome, I was about to buy a fully equipped RAM Sport when I heard about the Rebel. I'm glad that RAM will be releasing something like the Rebel because it fits right in my standards. All the small details inside/out are really appealing to me.
Anyways, I just wanted some objective and constructive opinions about all this hate the Rebel seems to generate and why.
Big thanks
