I was just on a construction job with 2500 workers. Huge parking lot and I was looking at all the different trucks. Every kind of set up you can imagine. I walked over and talked to a guy that had a new ram with the ram box. He loves it and showed me what he uses them for. Work boots, gloves, tow straps, minor tools and stuff. No more putting dirty work clothes and boots in back floor board.I am sold on it and I goggled it and all kinds of pictures popped up and one with the box loaded with beer and ice. I am sold on it if I buy this truck.

I currently have a 2500 Quad Cab with the 6'3" bed and no Ram Boxes. The bed has plenty of room for my needs. I would be concerned about going to a Crew Cab with a 5'7" bed and the Ram Boxes. I looked at a 5'7" bed with Ram Boxes and the remaining open bed space was a little larger than a bath tub. I guess it all depends on what type of storage is most important to you. Unfortunately, they say the Rebel is only available in Crew Cab with the small bed.

I've heard the RAM box can create more then a few problems...like people busting into them under the assumption that expensive tools are locked away in there despite it only being your dirty socks...
That's a problem with any storage container that you put in the back of your truck, but it is something to think about.

Thought I would post up a video showing off the Rambox just to give people a better idea of what is going on with it.

Pretty sweet. I like the gun racks you can get for it. The only downside is that you can't put on a canopy Or ladder rack which kinda sucks but you have to take the good with the bad I guess
I know these get broken into semi-frequently, so I'm not sure if I would choose to put guns in there. Depends exactly where you are off to for the day I suppose.

I'm more interested in filling them with beer, and maybe tools when I actually have some work to do.

One interesting problem when ordering one .... you can't get Rambox AND Sunroof on the same truck as it exceeds the GVWR allowed for a 1500.
Now is this true for just the rebel or other 1500's as well? Curious as to why? I guess th ebigger bumpers skid plates thick rubber all that adds little by little...

so what does that do to payload and what not?

do you know how much it exceeds by?

I was told by around 100 pounds.

Im curious to check into the other trims but i would assume so. Payload decreasesas weight increases always. Thats why 4x4s tow less than 4x2s, which blows most people's minds.

I just wish the Rebel was available in the Quad Cab with a 6'3" bed. That is the configuration I own now and it's the perfect combination between interior space and bed space. The Ram Boxes are expensive and do take up some bed space. I can see the value for some but I just don't have the need for addition interior storage and need all the bed space I can get. I don't need an 8' long bed but 5'7" bed is very small.
