I realize the cold winter months are behind us, but I just received this article in my email. It's about the dangers of warming your engine for too long: Warming Up Could be Killing Your Engine.
Don't need to warm it like that.. just don't stand on the throttle till it's up to temperature.
I will still occasionally use the remote start on really cold days or really hot days to run the heat/AC though.. but not for reasons of warming the engine to running temp before going anywhere.
I find it amazing the some people will run their engines for 15 minutes before going anywhere..
Guess I've been doing it for one minute too long. I usually warm up my car for 2-3 minutes and that's mostly to wait for the interior to warm up and the frost to melt a bit. 15 minutes is just too long, waste of fuel and time.
