Hi there,

I am shopping for Winter tires for my Rebel, and will likely keep the stock 17" Rim as my winter rim.. looking for insight on Winter rubbers for our size as it seems to be SERIOUS slim pickings.

I was considering moving to a 20" Summer Tire on a new Rim. BUT I am interested to hear from others who have done so and what kind of ride they are experiencing?
The last thing I want to do is 'invest' in a bad ride.

Thanks!

Can never go wrong with Wrangler Duratracs. That's what I've had on my last 2 trucks and they were awesome in the winter.

If you want an awesome snow Tire I would recommend going with the Bridgestone Blizzak. Awesome snow Tire. The good news is snow tires run comfortable as the rubber is soft. If memory serves me correct it's the Blizzak DMV1 or V2 in that size/load rating.

If they're winter only go studded Duratrac or firestone mt since they can accept studs, if not the KO2 are winter rated and have been great so far in the summer but I haven't had any experience with them in the snow.

Just added the BF Goodrich K02. They are snow rated so I will see this winter how good they are
You'll love them. I had them on my old truck. Ran them for 2 winters. Awesome traction in snow/ice.

If you want your hearing intact, do NOT ever go with Firestone MT's. Nice tire offroad and for snow and ice but LOUDEST tire I have ever run on a truck. Super Swamper's, Ground Hawgs, Buckshot Mudders, are all quieter then firestone MT's. I was shocked when I put them on my old Cherokee. They were even on Jeep's SEMA Cherokee so I thought they couldn't be too bad. Wrong......

Can't say enough good things about Duratracs (had them on my Rubicon) and so far so good on the Cooper MTP's I'm running now.

I put on the KO2s as well and love them. What Psi are you running the tires on? I have them at 55/50 (front/rear) and they seem fine.

Thanks.

I would imagine they would be loud but I can't see them louder than swampers but I guess they can be.

I never would have imagined they would be as loud as they were. Unbelievable on how crazy they were.... Shocking

I won't put anything but Duratracs on my trucks. It will be Duratracs replacing my stock garbage toyos soon. I live in BC and go up north a lot in the winter, the Duratracs on my last truck are awesome in ice and snow. Then still great in the spring once the snow melts and turns everything into a mud pit.
