Rebel Cab Lights

Who are running cab lights? Looking to get some, hoping Mopar has a decent option and the dealer can install them so they are covered under warranty. I like the Recon lights look, but I hear they go out rather quickly and dropping the headliner to change a bulb is very cumbersome.

Thanks

Another member has the factory 5 teardrop lights on the cab. They look sweet. I'll see if I can remember who did it. MOPAR parts were about $100 and dealer charged 4 hours of labor. Supposedly there is a spot near the drivers grab handle they can tie into the wiring.

EDIT - Joe did it

Yeah, I like Joe's lights, just wish the Mopar lights came in a smoked housing.
If you were concerned with warranty issues, just have the dealership install OEM cab lights than buy Recon cab lights. They should be interchangeable (same base, just different lens/bulb set up). I replaced them on both of my 2500's with Recon LED lenses/bulbs.

when you putting them on the rebel, you know you want to. it's a used truck now.

Wont be getting the Recon, will not be pulling my headliner once or twice a year to constantly be replacing bulbs as is the majority of people that bought them. I like the PlasmaGlow set but the are a darker amber which I don't know if I like that look or not

You don't have to pull the headliner once they are installed. You just unscrew from the top to access housing/led bulb. The base would stay attached to the truck.

Recon are screwed from the inside of the truck to the outside, cant remove them without getting to the studs under the headliner.

Its talked about on many forums and videos.

Only reason you'd have to remove them is if they fail. Recon cab lights are all LED based for our trucks. Should last 50,000 hours, give or take. That's driving about 3,000,000 miles, the way most of us drive.

If you have to replace one every 6 months, you've got other issues.

I have seen them, I have also done a lot of research on them

Top results are all reporting failures within months, LED based light "Should" last thousands of hours, doesn't change the fact that they are made in China and sub-par quality, Talking with Joe I will be going with the Mopar clear lens lights

good choice i think, mopar. all i saw were bad reviews on recon lights too, i like my choice. dealer did a good job installing and didn't mark up all the interior plastics when they removed them.
Googling randomly (following your link) is meaningless - not research. Nearly every review in the top results is 2012 or earlier. 2006, 2007, etc. There are only a few of reviews in the first page of results that are 2014+, and they were more positive than negative. I'm not judging / commenting on their quality. But if you are, then something current would be nice. 10 year old reviews are meaningless given modern production cycles. Even 4 years. Too many chances for the company to have turned things around by now.
