Sorry to see. However with that being said great to hear that nobody got hurt. Hopefully the insurance plays nice and they give you the Diminished Value of the truck since it is still fairly new among other things. I went through this whole process close to a year ago when my Titan got rear ended (Less than a year left before it would of been completely paid off ARG!). Instead of repair though they totaled it out because it was pretty bad however that got me in a Ram Rebel.

Bummer. It is nice to be the one with the real bumper though, isn't it.

Do check into that Diminished Value (and I think you have to bring it up to the insurance), as even though this sounds to be cosmetic damage, it still generates a mark on the CarFax report, which is an immediate hit to the resale value of your truck. You probably won't get back what you've lost in resale value, but it'll be at least a little something.

I went through this a few years ago, and would have been better off just letting the girl's dad settle with me, but it is what it is.
It only has 13,000 miles 2016 got to pay 500 deductible even though not my fault sucks

Major bummer though:(, it's good that no one got hurt but, OMG! that must've been one good whack for steel to bend like that, would like to see what the other vehicle looked liked....

Should be the other guy paying his deductible since it was his fault. Should be no cost to you. Unless he was uninsured, in which case your insurance company will pay it out of your comprehensive policy and you're stuck with the deductible. Which blows, because it's not your fault he's driving uninsured, too, but insurance companies will always get the best of you in the long run.

At least, that's how it works in Illinois.
It was totaled front end completely smashed
The lady from State Farm said I would have to pay it first then wait till I got a reimburse from her company I got hit entering i55 kedzie there's was construction only one lane to enter
That the other driver's insurance company? If so, they'd like you to believe that. Fact is it's their responsibility to fix it. They'll game you if you let them.

iamarebel,

When I had my accident Allstate (who I have) told me I could pay my deductible if I wanted them to handle everything then would get reimbursed later on. I chose not to take that route and worked with the insurance of the individual who wrecked us, that being State Farms. They were fairly cool for the most part but as johnj (by the way grew up in IL, don't miss it that much) stated they will try to short change you when they can, they are not multibillion dollar companies for nothing. My advice is to get EVERYTHING in writing. (i.e.: accident report, medical, etc.) Make a file on your computer and back everything up that they send you. Unlike most of society I didn't lawyer up but I did leave that option open if needed, even got letters from "ambulance chasers" offering their services. Let us know how it is going and if you need any assistance there are more than enough people here willing to give advice or help out just need to ask.
My insurance is State Farm that what my company said about paying the 500 the lady who hit me got American access which I looked up yesterday very bad reviews they haven't called me back I'm going to wait till Monday if they don't call I'll just go thru my I'll just come up with the 500 I'm leasing the truck I don't want any problems
Ah, yeah, then you're in the situation that Arkhams Finest described. It's okay, but your insurance company isn't under any obligation to pay for it since she was insured. It frees you up from dealing with her company. My previous truck got rear ended several years ago. I dealt straight with the other guy's company. Got them a quote from a local shop, let their adjuster look at it, and they okay'd it, and paid for a rental truck while mine was in the shop. (crumpled right rear corner, so it took about a week and a half)

I didn't pay a penny. But you have to get on the other company right away and pester the **** out of them if they don't respond. I'd make several more calls, note the times/dates of all the calls, and report them to the BBB if you don't hear from them.
I was also rear ended a couple of days ago. Person fled the scene, but he was a POS 99 explorer and I was able to chase him down with my HEMI. Nonetheless, he was uninsured so $500 deductible out of pocket.

My question is, did they replace the bumper with an OEM part, or did they go aftermarket like they usually do?

It's a brand new truck, and with it being powder coated and censored, I might throw some punches...

Thank you for the reply.
I still haven't gotten it fix yet waiting game with insurance
iamarebel,

Sorry to say but you will play the waiting game for sure and being that it is a lesser known insurance company not surprising. When my truck got hit I had it towed straight to the dealership that way I knew I would get OEM parts and it would be warrantied/properly repaired. Do not let the insurance tell you that you have to take it to "their" repair shop, that is complete b.s. (On a side note insurance companies have their "preferred" shops they use because the shops charge less and sometimes use cheaper parts hence why they want you to go there). Get your own appraisal from where you want it repaired. As johnj stated you have to keep on them nonstop and make a note every time you talk to them or leave a message. Also I would start now thinking about everything you want done including covering medical if any and how much time it has taken out of your life/work to deal with this. Keep your head up and you will get through this.
I definitely decidedly at I am going to take it to my dealership to get it repaired. I figured they would use MOPAR parts and maintain my warranty valid.
Just left the truck at the shop should get it back next week
Good luck and hope it goes well for you.
