FCA has issued a recall for Ram trucks of the 2015 to 2016 model year. The recall affects about 67,000 2015-2016 Ram 1500 pickups built between mid-June and late September of this year.
The issue is that these vehicles may have been assembled with drive shafts that were not properly heat treated. The axles may overheat or wear quickly which could result in an ABS fault or wheel separation.
Most affected vehicles are still on dealer lots.
The fix is quite simple. The defective part must be replaced with one from a new properly treated batch.
