don't have ram boxes but did notice both drivers and passengers front door handles have cracks in the paint. not trying to take your post. just figured i would add this as another issue to check out. you should put up some pictures of your splitting.
My buddy has Ram boxes on his Laramie and his are splitting too. The stealership has some replacements on order. They were quick to get them replaced.
Wonder if it's a bad batch of ram boxes or certain circumstances make them crack. Don't suppose you can post up a picture of the cracks?

I've seen complaints about the rambox lids off and on since they were introduced. Usually I read about cracks at stress points like the locks and hinges, or about warping at the ends. Being that they're not metal, I wouldn't want to overfill the boxes even with soft stuff like tarps, because stress could easily cause that type of cracking if they're not prone to it already.

I didn't have the same issue, but none the less it was an issue....

The Ram box lids come in 2 pieces- the fiberglass painted cover, and the plastic underlayment that faces the inside.

For me, those 2 pieces were starting to separate DAYS after purchase.

The Dealer & FCA made it right and replaced both lids. I have NOT had any problems since. They know there's an issue and should be quick to replace yours as well.

IMO, the ram boxes are the best option on the truck. I wouldn't buy another RAM without them!
Super, something new to start inspecting regularly
I am searching for the rebel with all the add ons i want. Yet many in the market i live in do not have RamBoxes, is RAM not making as many with RamBoxes due to these issues?
Same, here not allot of choices for Ram Boxes in Florida, at least not close to me, or if it does have em, its got not much else.
You can always just order a Rebel with the options you want, if you cannot find such a beast on a lot. If you do order one, remember to be sure to order the Rebel instrument cluster.

Best to find a dealer that will do a search across dealers, they can find what you want..

YMMV

It's a special version of the premium cluster, with anodized red trim rings on the dials. It's not 100% special, but it completes the interior look, and a lot of people are unhappy that they didn't get it or know to get it ordered specially. The dealers missed it, too. It's a $195 factory option. But dealers want over $1,000 to install it after the fact.

This is the optional Rebel cluster:

And this is the standard cluster:

Looks good, for $195 it's not a bad deal at all!
Yeah. And if you don't get it, you'll be like others, mad later.

The standard cluster is actually much more boring than that one. I have it and I've learned to not dwell on it.

Ah, yeah. I thought I had that one, but I copied in the wrong one. My bad. Too many pics and was in a hurry. Here's a standard cluster, which has been around since about 2010. Thanks for the catch.

Anyone know if the upgraded clusters swaps in for the standard cluster without additional upgrades\flashes?

Thx
I went to go buy a new 2016 Ram Rebel today, but noticed a crack on the passenger side Ram Box. right where the lock push button was. I was not happy. I let the dealer without the truck :-(
