Hello,

I just bought a brand new 2017 Ram Rebel with 5.7 Hemi last night from a dealership that was two hours away. The drive back was all highway and I was only averaging 13.2 miles per gallon at 65-70MPH.

Window sticker is 21 & 17.

Should I be that far off? Am I missing something? Some sorta fuel efficiency button?

Seems very low. If brand new it will take a bit to break it in and get more consistent MPG numbers that aren't alarming. I just did 250 miles mostly highway between 75-85 and I averaged 16.4 miles to the gallon

I've got about 150 miles on mine and my average is about 13.2 I believe. I knew it would be a little worse than my previous truck, which had 3:21 gears. I'm assuming all Rebels (mine, anyway), have the 3:92 running gears. Lower gears = faster pickup, but worse fuel mileage.

I have 800 miles on my 2017 Rebel with 3.92 gearing, 4x4, Mopar cold air intake and magna flow exhaust

When I picked up from dealer all highway home I averaged 14mpg at 70
After installed the CAI and Muffler I get 16,17 at 70 still sucks really bad.

My 2017 has 2000 miles on it now. I get around mid to upper 16s on mostly 2-lane country roads and some short interstate runs. I did avg 19 2 weeks ago on a 3-hour drive doing 60-70mph. The only things I've done so far is Carven exhaust and a low profile bed cover. Tires are still at 55psi.

Break-in takes a bit. I didn't see 16 until 2000 miles, then pushing 18 around 9,000 miles. You aren't going to see 21 unless you put P rated road tires on it and drive 55mph down a flat highway with no wind.

Not all, mine has 3:21. I'm averaging 19. Truck computer consistently higher than hand figured. I've had truck say 21.5 for a tank. Hand calculated best I've ever got was 20.1.

Wow! That's crazy, you're lucky!! I've got right at 300 miles on mine and I think I've just managed to move up to 12.9 mpg. I was mistaken earlier when I said I was getting 13.2 (it was actually 12.7).

What are you going by? Computer? Try resetting. May have had a lot of idling at dealer. Wouldn't get to concerned until you fill up and do the math.

Ok....just reached 1,000 miles on the truck and had to fill up the 26 gallon tank 5 times to do so (after getting down to 1/4 tank each time). That's giving me about 10 miles to the gallon.

Sigh....will keep going to get to that magic "break in point" that so many have talked about on this forum. Something I have never had to do with the 20 or so vehicles I have owned in the past.

I have a 2017 Rebel with 3.92 rear gear and 900 total miles, and am averaging 16.9 mixed driving. I try to keep the "ECO" mode active as much as possible and mpg is gradually improving.

Winter fuel blends play a huge part in MPG along with temperature changes. This past summer I was getting on averaged high 18's and now I'm sitting around 13. My driving hasn't changed either.

Yes ,there is a fuel saver button at he bottom of the display screen . This will turn on your eco system. I had to enable mine but still only getting 11.5.
