Hi everyone... i am new to this forum. I just purchased a 2015 Ram Rebel V6 Pentastar. I test drove the truck a couple of times and was impressed by the power. I do not tow or haul any trailers and most likely will never haul anything. Well, possibly a u-haul trailer to move stuff. That is by far the only thing I can possibly foresee doing in the future.

I owned a 2005 5.7L V8 Ford F-150 Lariat and it was a gas guzzling machine! I just fell in love with the Rebel and don't care for the v8 for my needs. I have a family with three little girls who like to lug around their bedrooms. The truck has more than enough juice, space and functionality for everyday driving to the beach, going up into the mountains for the winter and drive up and down the coast.

Though there was not much of a difference in fuel consumption between the v6 pentastar and v8 hemi, i chose the v6 because at the end of the day it still has better fuel consumption and can take 87 octane. Here in SoCal gas prices are still high relative to other states.

Welcome to the forum! What color did you get? I assume you've got a bed cover since you'll be lugging around three little girl bedrooms.
Seeing you came from Ford, i'm surprised you didn't get the Raptor. Were you at least considering it at one point or what?

Most current Ford owners I know are more interested in the Raptor than the Rebel.

Oh yes the truck came with the factory tonnaeu cover. The truck came pretty much loaded with everything I will need except for a sunroof and side steps. I am going to install an aftermarket sunroof and purchased iconic gladiator running boards.

I didn't even consider a Raptor. I was looking at the new platinum's but $60k was not justifying it. For me the decision came down to economics.

Ford did not make a 5.7L V8. It was a 5.4L. and that engine was a piece of sh*t

Did you get them to detail it and do anything special to protect the paint or what? Always a good time to do it when new.
Ramageddon - Thank you for the correction. Yes that motor was a piece of junk. By the time I got out of it and after several (consistent) service repairs I was getting 9 MPG in the city and 12 on the highway.
I would assume that the truck comes with some sort of paint protection (i.e. wax) when new. However, if not then I have a real good detailing company here in SoCal.
Congrats on the truck. I've had mine for a couple of months and love the Rebel!
Congrats on the Rebel!!! As for paint protection, our dealership gave us a celajet coating for free. Since we were repeat customers. The crystal Granite never looks dirty. I highly recommend it.

Anyone wanting to take it up a notch should look into getting paint protection film. It's not cheap but it saves you a ton of trouble and a wise investment. Here's a little info on PPF:
