Just picked up my new Rebel on Friday. Black Crystal Pearl. Nice ride for sure. Traded in my Laramie road princess for something a little more capable off-road. I used to have an 08 Rubicon which I had nothing but issues with, still loved it none the less and have been longing for another Off-roader for a while. While this is not a Power Wagon it is a nice compromise.

Love the feel so far and it looks awesome. Not keen on the headlights though. Dodge could have at least put some proper LED's in it. I mean come on they put LED fogs and then crappy 9005 halogen's for headlights???? Not too impressed with that but oh well they can't get it all right can they :)

Anyway,
All in all very happy so far. Here is a pic.

I know a lot of people complain about not having led lights, but they choose the halogen for a reason. They make heat (keeps snow off your lights) and give a full spectrum of light where as LED's dont, so you can see better in bad weather with them.

congrats on the new ride, my dealer just called and let me know my black 16 just showed up too! get to go pick it up friday.

Hey man! Also from the Interior.

The bulbs are actually 9012 in the low beam and 9005 in the high beam.

Enjoy the truck, we love ours so far!

I pulled mine out today for some PIAA's both bulbs that came from the factory had been marked with 9005 HB3. The one had orange writing and was marked 9005 SL+ and the other had 9005 in white writing. Not sure why they are the same but different? Is one actually a 9012 then???

According to Sylvania… It's a 9012.
Lamp Replacement Guide Home

Guess I'm going to have to pull a bulb.

*edit* After doing a google search SL+ means it's an HIR bulb. So basically a 9012.

Did you see an increase in lighting performance / colour temp in replacing the bulb?
No I didn't. But being that the 9012 should be the one to go in there I may see a better increase now. Will keep you posted. Gonna grab some 9012's today.

I think what I was getting at is the 9012 or 9005SL+ is the best of the best in a Halogen - regardless of brand.

You may NEVER see an increase in lighting performance unless you go HID.

I'll see if I can pull a bulb tonight and see what comes out.
