So is that a basIc ram? Or do they come with limited slip? I don't need a raptor but was hoping the rebel was a little more capable than a run of the mill 4x4. I think they nailed the looks. I was reading a article and it said the rebel was going to have 12 inches of wheel travel. That's the only article that I have seen stating this. Thought they might of been trying to give the raptor a run for the mony but after reading more it is more of a looks package. Does look good though

Limited slip will be available as an option, lockers not available at all

Both Toyota TRD and Ford FX4 offer locking diffs on their off road packages why wouldn't Ram do this in their new competing model? I see this as an oversight on their part. Offering a rear locker would give the model more off road chops and from a marketing perspective more credibility.

good point
and it's models like that which take away the guess work for them
considering those models have it, by default the Ram should as well, no question.

I don't think this truck was ever intended to be a rock crawling vehicle, it wouldn't make since to make another one when you have the power wagon. Besides who honestly uses lockers in their $40k plus truck. Most people never really off road with their trucks, and many of the Off Road parks I've been too have trails so tight and narrow that nothing bigger than a regular cab is going to get down the trail.

I pull a loaded trailer through sugar sand trails to get to my camp. I would like to know that I have at least 3 tires pulling me through. Now I have front and rear lockers for true 4 wheel drive. I usually don't use my front locker as it makes steering almost impossible. Low tire pressure is still the key to not digging in and getting stuck. I hope that the Rebel with a rear limited slip and good 33" tires aired down will get me where I need to go.
