Tried googling this but I figured I'd go to you too. Saturday I had to pick up my friend who was visiting an hour away, I used google maps on my phone (I was driving my other car). Took me right to her place. To take her home, I used my truck and the maps on the truck. Thank God I knew 40% of the directions because my trick wanted me to take every single exit off the NJ Turnpike and Garden state parkway to get to her aunts house! It was showing 1 hr and 45 min when I knew it was only a little over an hour. Once I got close to where she lived, it was going correctly, but then didn't tell me to make a right on her road instead telling me it was up ahead! Going home I had to go back to the parkway but it wanted me to pass it up! I was shaking my head. Thinking next time I might just use my phone again and blue tooth. Anyone else have this problem? Happened last week too when I was taking a different way home, and instead of turning off the gps, I left it low and heard it wanted me to take a road way off course!

Possibly it was trying to take you around heavy traffic areas, or you have your gps setting set to lease use of freeways mode.
Or my conspiracy theory......they intentional try to make you drive though business districts so you stop and spend money.

I looked at my maps today in the truck, and no where does it show "avoid highways" etc. Took me thru the fastest route, but like I said, I knew the way it was taking me was no way the fastest route

Not very impressed with the GPS option, It is about two years behind times, a highway that was completed two years ago does not show on the screen and it keeps telling me to turnaround & go back when ever I use it. They installed the GPS option about a month ago when I got my 2016 Rebel, when I inquired about up-dates to reflect the roads that were open the day I bought the GPS, they said no up-dates, it is what it is. Was told it might show-up on the 2017 up-dates if I want to pay for them. I could have bought two or three good Garmin's for the price I paid for the Chrysler GPS upgrade. BTW my $100.00 Garmin had the new roads about a week after they opened. Sad, Sad, Real SAD!

The GPS in the truck is a Garmin unit. You'd think Garmin would use the same map data for all their units and updates. Guess that's not the case. Might be worth a complaint to Garmin directly rather than Ram/FCA.

For map accuracy, Tom Toms tend to get better reviews than Garmins, at least road-related. At least as far as I have seen.
