****. I hit a new silverado, pulled out into road, going 40 and it destroyed the front end of my WRX. The initial repair estimate was 11K, but after Subaru didn't approve the repairs they had to redo the frame and fix the engine. Ended up being 21K. The car was only worth 24K. Plus it took them 5 months of rental car payments.

The point of the story is the silverado drove away and only had 2.5K in damages. haha. Trucks always win!

Wow, i thought insurance companies would have considered a 21K repair job a total loss instead of trying to fix it.

Habboy had to do a 6k repair for that broken rebel bumper, makes me wonder what a 2.5K repair on a silverado looks like. a new paint job only?

So they did a payment of 13K to the collision repair center, but when they took it back to Subaru to have it checked to ensure it would be still under warranty. (only had 12K miles on it) Subaru told them they had to replace the two front frame rails and have the engine pulled back out, etc... That ended up having the insurance payout another 10K. The insurance company ended having to buy the car from me, since it went over the total loss threshold at the end.

The five months of rental car was a lot too, which is funny because I was deployed the whole time (Still am) so the rental just sat in the drive way. I was going to turn it in a week after getting it (When I left for deployment) but, Liberty Mutual was being a dick so I kept it.

After the insurance company bought the car, my wife went and picked up the Rebel. I had her go to get a sport, but ended up with the rebel. I haven't seen it in person yet. But I like the pictures and already have plans.
