I picked up my Rebel 3 & 1/2 weeks ago and tonight on the way home from the store I noticed my instrument panel flickering. I took a video, then a second from the driveway to show that no street lights are affecting what is being seen. Has anyone else had this issue?

Not related, but there's a guy in my town that has a red/blk Rebel & every time I've seen this truck, which is quite often, the front E-lights are flashing, not the rears, just the fronts. It's been in heavy traffic, so I haven't had an opportunity to get his attention.

I'm all in favor of a "Things to look for on your new Rebel" guide. I went thru the manual the other night and have to say that I have learned more from here than the manual. It was neat to see all the details of the 3 diesel engine we can't have . . . not that I wanted one.

I tried to seat everything in there. 83 was everything fuses, relays, and things that probably didn't need checked.

I haven't driven too much at night since I did this yesterday, but so far so good.

So I took the above video on January 5th, seated everything I could find in the fuse box and the flicker went away. Then, Saturday, January 24th it happened again while running errands. After shutting off the truck and starting it again it was gone. Tuesday, January 26th it was back again worse than ever. I drove it straight to the local dealership and left it running to make sure someone there saw it. Granted it was only a pair of salesman and not a service guy, but two of their employees saw it.

Today, I took it in and they couldn’t make it happen and told me the customer service system was down so they couldn’t look it up, but will call me as soon as they know something. I do know a someone at another dealership and they had a guy there look it up and there are no notes for it on 2016 Rams or specifically Rebels.

This is a Ram Truck issue not limited to the Rebel, here are other Ram Truck Forums with this issue

Random flashing/flickering backlight on instrument cluster - DODGE RAM FORUM - Dodge Truck Forums

help needed with dash issue - DODGE RAM FORUM - Dodge Truck Forums

Flickering Gauge Lights

Apparently some dealers are replacing the instrument cluster, but not removing the steering column cover and scratching the crap out of it. I also noticed if a cluster is replaced the miles are set at the factory and will be what is on your truck when the order is sent in, so you may get a new cluster that shows lower miles. ! guy said he hit 5,000 miles twice.

I've seen it happen three times on my 2015 Rebel. After the first time I fully seated all fuses, and the problem has happened two more times since the first.

I'd rather live with this than the dealer destroying the interior of the truck trying to fix it I guess. I guess I'll just have to see how much worse it gets.

It happened twice so far on my 2015 Rebel which is now at 5700 miles. After the first time, I seated the fuses. it was good for about a 1000 miles. The second time, it happened after I played with the thumbwheel brightness switch. Took it to the dealer several weeks later for the axle recall and they could not replicate the problem and said no error codes. So far, that's it. Software issue?

Good find. Sounds like their electronics supplier has some sort of problem. Easy enough to get resolved if the recall is the issue, although this recall is for 2013s. If they're having the same problem now....

NOTE: anyone that did not get the Rebel cluster and is having this problem could probably swing the correct cluster during the recall for the difference in cluster cost. Can't imagine why Ram would deny that.

I took everyones advice on the fuses, when I got my truck home from the dealer on Saturday, I checked the fuses. Everyone of them was loose, it would have been a matter of time before they started to pop out.
