Sitting at my dealership waiting for the service manager to get back with an answer to what is causing multiple, and I mean like 20 deep scratches all over my drivers door glass. I can't see it being dirt, too many, too deep and too new. It's as if the glass is plastic and any little thing can scratch deeply. Odd thing is that no other windows have the same problem. But they are all in the same pattern and about the same height on the glass.

Hope it's just a freak thing... keep an eye on all your windows boys!

It wasn't dirt, dealer has ordered a new window and complete window trim kit. Service manager was dumbfounded and shocked. Tech waited for his say so before ordering the window (manager was at lunch), which was instantly as soon as he saw the damage.

They're probably going to order me new headlights as well!

I guess the answer will be revealed when the glass is replaced. As for my headlight issue (the fog we all know and loathe) is not as concrete. The service manager showed me a memo from Dodge claiming the headlight was fine if the condensation went away after 20 minutes. When he left, the tech told me if they were still fogging when my glass arrives he would switch them out for me.

Don't let the advisor try to convince you its dirt if there are many deep short scratches mid way up the glass. I think the suspicion is that there is something wrong internally, like a possibility of leaky door handle letting in grime or others have found loose screws and bolts in odd places.

I will post the results as soon as the glass is swapped out.
