I'm sure this isn't anything new, but I was looking for a storage solution for a pistol and came across this:

It's a little pricey in my opinion, and other than that my only gripe is that the locking mechanism seems a little outdated. It does look pretty secure and a friend of mine who has one in his 2013 1500 loves it.

I took Maverick's post as very obvious (if slightly dark) humor. He didn't mention shooting anyone. A gun can easily be just a threat deterrent.

I used to be part of the G-Wagon crowd. Those trucks have many military/police versions (outside the US). I remember lots of gun securing solutions were talked about and discussed on the forums showing many options used by the military/police. One nice option was a hand gun lock box mounted on the front driver/passenger door panels which were easily accessible but secure.

But the older G-Wagon's were very utilitarian so an ugly lock box was part of the decor. The Rebel may be a little more refined for such an option. There must be multiple options out their. This is not a new thing. A little more searching may give you more options other then occupying all the space in the center console.

I had a Console Vault in a 2006 1500 that had a console compartment underneath the front middle seat (below the arm rest console). It was very handy for storing anything valuable left in the truck. My 2013 1500 only had the arm rest console. Now that I've got a Rebel, I though about getting another safe - but the top arm rest compartment is so shallow that it's practically unusable, kind of hate to lose all the space of the lower compartment.

..M they come out of 2500-3500 Rams..

You should also check Amazon. Even CarID even if it's just to see what they list that works and then buying it from another source.
