I've never bought a new vehicle so I'm only vaguely familiar with it's break-in. What are the recommendations to break in a Rebel? Do you want to keep the RPMs low; not drive it to long? What're the details?
Check your owner's manual. There's a discussion about break-in there. It talks about pushing the pedal to full when in cruise a few times.
But I've heard that modern thinking is that there's no real break-in period like there was 25+ years ago. Modern engineering and lubricants have kind of negated the need. For peace of mind though, I took it a little easy on the truck for the first 3k. I typically don't race around anyway, though. Pisses my wife off when I'm at the gas pump twice in a week.
