So my question is, with doing the link mod seen on here can you clear 35" tires with 20" rims??

35s are 35s. Rim size doesn't matter as long as the off set is correct and the wheel clears the brake calipers

If you go 20s, I wouldn't do LT tires. Been there, done that. The ride quality sucks.

as long as you get the right offset, backspacing, then it is up to you how wide you want to go.

your stock ones are only 8 inch now.

look for a website called custom offset. very helpful in seeing what looks good on trucks.
